Sheffield Beach, a few short kilometres north of Salt Rock, is another of the small resort towns on the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast. It offers a delightful mix of peace and entertainment.
Those in the know reckon that the beaches, coves and bays around Sheffield Beach make up one of the most scenic stretches in KwaZulu-Natal. It’s not hard to see why. One can strolling along these unspoilt shores, clamber over the rocks, exploring rock pools and have entire bays to oneself. This is what beach holidays are all about.
The sea off Sheffield Beach is both beautiful and productive. Good diving and fishing reefs are easily accessible by boat. The usual KZN sightings of dolphins and whales are always a possibility.
Visitors to Sheffield Beach have a range of accommodation options, from guest houses and B&Bs to self-catering cottages. Many of these are right on the beach or have tremendous sea views.
Look out for
Anglers would be foolish not to pursue the bounty of Sheffield Beach’s sea, be it from the surf or out at sea. Organise a charter and head out to one of the offshore reefs.
Head to Christmas Bay, the most northerly of the Sheffield Bay beaches, and enjoy snorkelling, scuba diving or spear fishing.
