This is only for the wild at heart … Make your way to Kings Kloof Bridge in Mogale City (formerly Krugersdorp) to take in the impressive panorama of the Sterkfontein valley. Then blow your mind by leaping into thin air off this imposing structure.
Safety is a priority at the Kings Kloof Swing – there is a combination of seat and chest harnesses attached via ropes to the opposite side of the bridge. Therefore there is no undue pressure on your body as you exit the 45-metre high jump platform, just a gradual tensioning allowing you to free-fall until the giant pendulum swing kicks in.
No previous experience is necessary and anyone can do the King Kloof Swing. It is open every weekend as well as on public holidays and there is no need to book. Further options exist for the adrenalin junkies out there who just cannot get enough - opt for a bungee jump or the 320 metre Flying Fox. And if speedy falling is not your thing, there’s the less hectic walk over the Burma Bridge. This 120-metre long and 60-metre high hanging bridge will have you staring wide-eyed down at a potential plunge … but knowing that you are safely strapped in.
Once in Krugersdorp turn right into Sterkfontein Road out of Robert Broom Drive and then take the first right into Kameelperd Avenue, the first left into Pappegaai Street and finally right into Wolf Street. The Sterkfontein Heritage Lodge is on your left.
